ABOUT FOUR:TEN

Mike Kemp brings over three decades of experience in fire safety and compliance to his role. Retired as Fire Chief for the City of Lubbock, he dedicated 34 years to the department, serving as a firefighter, equipment operator, Lieutenant, and Fire Marshal in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau. Certified in various aspects of fire safety and law enforcement, Mike's expertise spans fire inspection, investigation, and prevention.

During his tenure, Chief Kemp earned degrees in Occupational Education and Criminal Justice, enhancing his skills for effective leadership in fire prevention. He was a past voting member of the ICBO Fire Service
Division and member of the International Fire Code Institute, International Association of Fire
Chiefs and the National Fire Protection Association. He attended numerous courses provided
by the National Fire Academy in Maryland and ultimately attained status as an
Executive Fire Officer from the National Fire Academy.

Since retiring from Lubbock Fire Rescue in 2015, Mike has applied his expertise to the commercial construction industry. He has held roles as Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and Fire and Life Safety Director, ensuring compliance with fire code ordinances and overseeing final inspections for commercial and hospitality properties in various regions, including the DFW area, Houston, Austin, West Texas, Eastern New Mexico, and California.

Notable Accomplishments:

• Oversaw design and construction of three fire stations and design of Lubbock's Emergency Operations Center.

• Facilitated compliance with fire codes for commercial properties in diverse regions, including DFW, Houston, Austin, West Texas, Eastern New Mexico, and California.

• Collaborated with Marriott on flagship Module 14 code processes, ensuring properties meet stringent safety requirements prior to occupancy.
